We’ll confirm all the details with you if you’re using our airport or train station pick-up services, or if you’re picking up your Campervan direct from our Glasgow HQ.

We’ll confirm what documentation you’ll need to bring too.We will also need your damages deposit waiver at this point too.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Two proofs of address are required from separate sources e.g.
    • Council tax – current year
    • Bank Statement dated in the last 3 months.
    • Credit card bill / statement dated in the last 3 months.
    • Mortgage statement dated in the last 3 months.
    • HMRC self-assessment / tax credit
    • Payslip
    • Mobile Phone Bills dated in the last 3 months.
    • Electricity/Gas/Water (bill/statement) dated in the last 3 months.
 
  • All proofs should be dated less than 3 months(*) old from your hire collection date.
    * Except Council Tax and TV licence which can be accepted for the period the document covers.
 
  • Please ensure that the name and address on any proofs match your drivers’ licence.
    Statements in joint names are acceptable as long as the your name features.  We understand that the world is mainly paperless these days but the majority of service providers will allow you to download bills or statements that you can share with us.

We appreciate things change, however the initial 50% booking deposit is non refundable. 

Should you wish to cancel your booking the impact differs dependant on when you cancel, outlined below:

  • Within 28 days will incur a 100% charge on the booking, you are liable for paying it in full.
  • Between 120 days and 28 days will incur a charge of 50% of the remaining balance.
  • If cancelled before the 120 threshold will only result in a lost deposit.
 

We do want to be flexible, if your circumstance has changed please give us a call to see what other options you may have.

 

Drivers must be between the age of 25 and 75 years of age and must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of two years. You must not have had more than 6 penalty points in the last 5 years and have not been declined insurance.

There are some constraints, please refer to the FAQ ‘Do you need to see my drivers licence?’, below.

All drivers must be present at the time of collection.

You must present your licence to us at time of booking. All drivers must also be present at the time of collection.

In the case of a UK card licence, in addition to presenting the card, all drivers must also supply a licence “check code” obtained through the Government “View Driving license” website at www.viewdrivingrecord.service.gov.uk

  • No cover is provided if you have had your licence suspended for any period within the last three years.
  • No cover is provided if you have had more than one fault incident within the last three years.
  • No cover is provided if you have more than two convictions with a maximum of three points per conviction.
  • No cover is provided if you have a BA, DD, or UT conviction.
  • Accepted Licence types of Full UK, EU, AU, US, CA, NZ & SA
  • Visitors from outside the UK must produce a valid domestic drivers’ licence or international driving licence as well as a passport.
  • Two, 3-point convictions are acceptable (i.e., 2x SP30’s, 3pts each) without referral.
  • Single 4-point offences are acceptable without referral and subject to standard.
  • Single 6-point SP30, SP50 and CU80 convections are acceptable subject to a £2000 excess. 
  • All other 6 points+ offences will require referral to the insurers.
 
It is important you share you licence details and “check code” with us at the start of the process, failure to do so may result in you being unable to hire the vehicle.

Yes, at point of booking you will be given the option to add a second driver.

the van insurance covers one driver, the Hirer and Driver cam be different people. Please ensure the primary drivers licence is that provided during the booking process.

Yes, if you opt for our European cover you will be insured to drive in any EU country. We will supply you with the required items for driving on the continent (beam benders, reflective jackets, etc). You must contact us direct to ensure we can provide you with the appropriate insurance cover and required items before we can confirm suitability.

We have no mileage constraints, allowing you to enjoy the van as you wish.

If you are considering taking the van abroad, we will apply a charge for the additional mileage expected and the insurance to cover you.

As well as a full handover of the van, its controls and equipment on the day of collection, you will also receive a comprehensive set of ‘How To’ digital guides that will answer any questions you might have when you are on your Campervan holiday.

We take all reasonable measures to ensure that your van is in full working order when you pick it up, but occasionally things will go wrong. In the first instance, please refer to the van handbook and the digital ‘How To’ guides

However, if you’re still stuck, please give us a call and we’ll help you fix the problem. If you end up out of pocket by purchasing replacement items (up to a maximum of £25), please keep the receipts and we’ll reimburse you. However, please call us to let us know before you buy anything.

Our vans are of a high standard, are all less than a year old and we take all reasonable measures to ensure that they are roadworthy at the time of rental. However, if there is a breakdown of any sort, we ask that you call us first on +447867308791, and then call the number for Volkswagen Assist. Please see the contact card in window pocket. 

If the vehicle can be fixed at the roadside then you should be back on your way in no time. If it cannot be fixed, you will be relayed back to us or to the nearest garage – this must be confirmed with ourselves in each instance before making a decision. If the van can not be repaired instantly, you will receive a replacement vehicle or partial refund. 

As a hirer you are responsible for looking after the van. The details of costs incurred from any mechanical or other breakdown can be found in our terms & conditions.

If needed, the police must be contacted on telephone number 999. Take as many photographs as possible and call us immediately on +447867308791 as soon as it is safe and practical to do so to let us know what’s happened. We’ll advise you on what to do next.

Do not admit fault, third party demands are not to be agreed to and the police report must include the name and address of the people involved as well as any witnesses, along with all vehicle registration details. Even in the case of minor damage you must provide a detailed written report to us outlining the circumstances of the accident. 

You will be liable for the insurance excess agreed at point of booking.

We provide you with fully comprehensive insurance that covers damage to the vehicle, including fire and theft.

The insurance comes with a non waivable excess fee of £1,000. which you will be liable to pay if we need to make a claim.

It does not cover damage to tyres and windscreens, or where we need to replace or repaint a panel on the van. There are separate charges for that and we recommend you check the detail in out T&Cs.

We appreciate general wear and tear is a factor of the hire. Our thorough handover and drop off checks give us both comfort during the hire.

No. All responsibility for your personal effects lies with you, as does any does any injuries sustained while hiring the van.

In the event of an own fault accident causing damage to the vehicle or any third party property you are liable for a £1000 excess.  We offer two options to reduce this:

Standard Damage Waiver reduces your liability to £750 (from £1000). Please note this does not cover damage to windscreen or tyres. The cost is £10 per day.

Premium Damage Waiver reduces your liability to £500 (from £1000) and includes damage to the windscreen & tyres. The cost is £20 per day.

The security deposit of £1,000 is taken to ensure that we have a facility to recover any cost of damage the van gets while out on hire with you.  

We take it just before you pick it up, do a thorough check of the van when you pick it up and return it. Once we are satisfied no material damage has occurred we will return it within 7 days of your drop off.

Vans are available between 3p.m. and 5p.m. on the day of your pick up.

No, at this time we do not provide storage facilities.

We can provide a pick-up and drop-off location that is suitable to your needs, be that from an airport, railway station, or reasonable locations around the city of Glasgow. Please contact us for more information.

Vans must be dropped off by 11am on the day of return. Late return charges of £50/ph after 11am will be charged to you should the van be returned late. We are strict on the policy as this has a knock-on effect on our other customers.

Absolutely, kids love it. We offer baby seats for the younger members of your family, you can add this on at point of booking or drop us a note to discuss if you want to bring your own – seat, not baby!

We do allow well behaved pets (up to a maximum of 2 per van), and we assume you mean dogs or cats. Your extended family members do incur an additional deep cleaning charge of £25 each, to allow a deeper clean for the next customer.

These luxurious vans can fit 4 people comfortably, 2 in the front and 2 in the back while driving. 

It fits 2 in the bed in the roof, and 2 in the bed in the lower cabin.

The leisure battery operates the electrics in the van such as lighting, USB sockets, the auxiliary heater, and the water. You can use this off grid for a day or two maximum. To recharge it, you will need to ensure the van is connected to an electric supply at a campsite.

When at a campsite, please have the van connected to the electric supply at all times.

If you do not use the electric supply cable, the leisure battery will drain the vehicle battery which may affect your ability to start and operate the van.

Please note, it is illegal to wild camp in a Campervan in the UK. Overnight stays need to be in a designated campsite or area.

Our vans are the same to drive as any modern family car, just remember they’re a little bigger! As with driving any new vehicle, take your time getting to know your van, then once you’re settled in you can relax and enjoy the ride.

All our vans take diesel. Should you fill up with the wrong fuel please call Volkswagen Assist as per the hire handbook. There will be a charge for this service.

For the comfort of all our customers, we do not allow smoking in the van.

We can provide fresh bedding and towels as extras through the booking process, we find most customers do bring their own. We do supply a comfort mattress for the rib-bed in the cabin.

You can expect all the amenities to live the camping life! We will include:

  • Picnic table and 2 chairs
  • Washing up bowl, liquid and cloths
  • Crockery, Mugs, Cups and Cutlery for 4 people
  • Kettle and pans
  • Kitchen knives, chopping board, and tin opener
  • Torch
  • Picnic blanket
  • Toilet roll – everyone forgets!

We don’t book them direct, however we can use our experience and connections to help you with itineraries, highlighting scenic sites and locations and where you may have a great stay. Just ask us when you’re booking if needed.

We are a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club who have sites across the UK that we encourage you to use. As a customer you will receive discounts on your stay. Please ask us for more information as you complete your booking.

Wild camping in a campervan or motorhome is not allowed in any part of the UK, you must park up in an approved designated site for the night.

We find soft bags are best for storing.
